High Pressure Turbo
Outlines | Spec Sheets | Technical Manual | Literature | IOM | Technical Notebooks
Designed specifically for hydraulic energy recovery, the TURBO addresses the major issues facing the gas processing designer and user including design simplicity, efficiency, reliability, maintainability, ease of field repair, and versatility.
"The Turbo...has saved the plant over 45% of its high pressure amine circulation horsepower, which is over 100 hp of savings...many applications across the company will be explored for implementation." -Mike Howard Asset Manager, Duke Energy
The HPT takes the rich amine stream from the contactor and depressurizes it with a high-speed hydraulic turbine. This turbine replaces the pressure throttling normally done by the contactor's liquid level control valve. Attached to the turbine shaft is a single stage centrifugal pump impeller. The complete rotor is mounted entirely in a single casing, thereby eliminating costly, maintenance intensive shaft seals. The HPT is placed downstream of the high-pressure pump and boosts the pressure of the lean amine going into the contactor.
