Completion of New High-Pressure Testing Facility
Posted 07/20/07

Pump Engineering, Inc. (PEI) has launched a new state-of-the-art testing facility, which has been under development for the past year and a half. Robert A. Oklejas, President of PEI, says “The new testing facility will provide our customers enhanced accuracy and heightened reliability testing.”

The new high-pressure testing facility was designed and implemented by the PEI team of Robert Oklejas, Kevin Terrasi, and Jeff Calkins. It is the only one in the world of its design, providing PEI with another critical advantage over competitors.

The new test loop can test the largest turbochargers and pumps PEI has ever built, including their new AVS pump series. In addition, it features automated lift tables that reduce complexity of operations, set-up time, and physical stress on operators, while using a fraction of the floor space of older designs.

As PEI continues to guarantee the industry’s most reliable and accurate flows and pressures, the new facility possesses unique design features to ensure the highest level of accuracy. Traditional testing is designed to measure only seven points; PEI’s new automated test loop can measure an infinite number of points, providing customers the most accurate performance characteristics on their turbochargers and pumps. New calibration protocols have also been designed, ensuring that every product is run through a rigorous, automated set of test procedures.

The new high-pressure testing loop improves upon PEI’s already simple, efficient, reliable, and affordable technology and is another reason why PEI will continue to be the leading energy recovery choice for the reverse osmosis energy recovery industry.
